30-Second Spot Highlights Peter Koutoujian’s Commitment to Middle Class Families: Standing Strong On Gun Control, On Equal Pay For Equal Work, And On Social Security And Medicare
Peter Koutoujian’s campaign today released its first television ad, “It’s About You.” The ad highlights Koutoujian’s commitment to stand strong with middle class families on reducing gun violence, on protecting women’s rights, and on safeguarding Social Security and Medicare.
“Olivia deserves to grow up in a safe neighborhood,” starts Koutoujian, as the screen shows Olivia doing her homework. “David deserves to retire in dignity. Jessica deserves equal pay for equal work. My name is Peter Koutoujian and I’m running for Congress, but this election isn’t about me. It’s about Olivia, David, and Jessica. It’s about your family, and my family.”

Koutoujian has highlighted middle class issues, focusing his campaign on his strong, progressive track record of standing up for women’s rights and standing up against gun violence. He started his career by defeating an anti-choice incumbent, going on to write and help pass the bill that ensured emergency contraception was provided in every Massachusetts hospital for women who need it. His maiden speech from the floor of the State Legislature was in support of Massachusetts’ assault weapons ban, echoing his consistent call for a federal ban of assault weapons and high capacity magazines, in addition to instituting universal background checks.
“From Framingham and Natick to Lexington and Arlington to Malden and Revere, Fifth District voters want to hear what their next Representative will do for them and their families,” said Chris Joyce, Koutoujian’s campaign manager. “Peter’s strong, progressive message is focused on serving middle class families because that’s what he’s done his entire career. Whether it’s standing strong on women’s issues, standing up against gun violence, or standing firm in the face of threatened cuts to Social Security and Medicare, Peter’s decades-long record of public service resonates with families across the district.”
