Leila Migliorelli Has the Relevant Experience Melrose Needs
Leila's professional and personal experience will bring a unique blend of relevant skills and thoughtful leadership to the City Council.

I believe Leila Migliorelli’s professional experience, combined with her volunteer service to Melrose, makes her uniquely qualified for the role of Councilor-at-Large.
I met Leila a few years ago, when we were volunteering together for the Melrose Education Foundation. We quickly realized that in addition to our support of Melrose Public Schools we had something else in common: our careers in higher education. Leila’s job as Director of Donor Relations requires her to ensure that money given by donors is used as it was intended, and that donors understand the impact of their investment. That is to say, her entire job revolves around accountability and transparency, two things we have heard a lot about needing more of in Melrose, especially in the wake of last April’s override. From my own experience in higher ed fundraising at another institution, I understand the important role Leila plays in being a good steward of resources in her work, and I know she would bring these same skills to our city as a Councilor-at-Large.
In addition to her professional experience, Leila has demonstrated her deep commitment to our city as an active and engaged volunteer, serving on the Human Rights Commission and dedicating her time to the Melrose Education Foundation and her kids’ schools. While we are fortunate to have many great public servants, I believe that Leila’s professional and personal experience will allow her to bring a unique blend of relevant skills and thoughtful leadership to the City Council.

Stewarding millions of dollars well, within the framework of a large and complex institution, is challenging work. Communicating clearly about it can be even harder. Having gotten to know Leila over these last few years, I know that she can help Melrose do both as a Councilor-At-Large. I hope you will join me in supporting her on November 5.
Sincerely,
