'Many' Melrose High Students Played Hooky For Patriots Parade

MELROSE, MA — If you took the train from Oak Grove to work in Boston on Tuesday, you may have noticed what seemed like half of Melrose High on the Orange Line.

Well, it wasn't half, but there was definitely a influx of students heading to the Patriots parade.

"Many students are out, certainly more than normal," Melrose High Principal Jason Merrill said.

Merrill said the absence was not excused. He also said a lot of students still came to school in order to be eligible for games and practices.
