Melrose Cancels School, Parking Ban Lifts In Morning

MELROSE, MA — Melrose Public Schools are canceled Friday, Jan. 5, due to the snowstorm that just dumped about a huge amount of snow on our collective faces. That's a four-day weekend for kids - not too bad considering they got Monday off, too.

Also from the City of Melrose:

• The parking ban will be lifted at 6 a.m.
• Trash, recycling, and Christmas trees will be picked up. Please refer to the revised schedule posted earlier.
• The Milano Senior Center, the Melrose Public Library, and City Hall will be closed.
• Please do not snowblow into the streets. By doing so you are creating a safety hazard for our community.
• Temperatures will be dropping to dangerous levels, so please be careful when going outdoors.
• In case of an emergency, call 911. All non-emergency calls regarding snow removal should be directed to the Storm Center, 781-665-0142.
