Melrose Council On Aging Announces Week Of Free Programs For Seniors
The programs include technology assistance, a Father's Day breakfast, social gatherings, a memory café, and a financial safety seminar.
MELROSE, MA — The Melrose Council on Aging has announced a week of free programs and activities for older residents at the Milano Center on 201 West Foster St., with events scheduled this week from Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18. The programs include technology assistance, a special Father's Day breakfast, social gatherings, a memory café, and a financial safety seminar.
The week's events are designed to help older adults stay connected, informed, and engaged through educational, recreational, and social opportunities. Residents are encouraged to register in advance for programs where requested.
The first event is scheduled for Monday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., when the SDM Foundation will host walk-in technology support office hours. Participants can bring questions about phones, tablets, computers, or other technology devices and receive assistance from volunteers.

On Tuesday at 9 a.m., the Milano Center's monthly Men's Breakfast Group will hold a special Father's Day-themed breakfast featuring steak and eggs and Belgian waffles. Advance registration is requested for the event.
Two programs are scheduled for Wednesday. Residents can attend a coffee hour with Bumi the therapy dog from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Later in the day, the center will host its Flamingo Bash Memory Café from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The memory café is a welcoming and stigma-free social gathering for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. The event will include a mocktail demonstration, appetizers, and take-home mocktail recipes. Organizers encourage attendees to sign up in advance.

The final event of the week is a free personal finance and cybersecurity seminar presented by Northern Bank on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The seminar will focus on financial safety and cybersecurity awareness.
