Here are some of the more notable entries from the weekend before Halloween.

MELROSE, MA — The Melrose Police log offers a peek into some of the (allegedly) crime-y parts of the city. It's important to remember that an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 27

2:11 p.m. - There was a turkey in the roadway off Main Street, on Potomac.
5:24 p.m. - A report was taken of a man assaulted in the parking lot of TD Bank on Main Street and West Foster.

Saturday, Oct. 28
4:43 a.m. - Caller said his friends were at his parents' Stevens Place house having a party. Police found no activity at the house.
6:29 a.m. - Caller said a female who was requesting a ride to Boston was trying to get into his Glen Street home. She was transported back to the police station.
1:13 p.m. - Someone brought in a makeup bag containing makeup found in neighbor's Russell Street yard.
3 p.m. - Caller said she found an older border collie dog with a blue collar and dog bones in Malden.
6:51 p.m. - Caller says someone is riding doorbells and taking off and that there was a large group of youths in the playground near East Foster and Larrabee Street. The large group moved alone, police said.
10:37 p.m. - Reports of youths throwing pumpkins into Lebanon Street, but police were unable to find the kids.
11:57 p.m. - Caller said there was a large house party at Hunts Terrace. Police spoke to home owner, saw that guests were of age, and told them to stay inside and keep it quiet.
Sunday, Oct. 29
12:03 a.m. - Caller said there was a very loud house party on Union Street. Police said the party was made up of adults that weren't being too loud, and asked them to keep it down.
10:43 a.m. - Driver reported possibly hitting a pedestrian with a vehicle near Main and Grove.
