Melrose Fire Department: Captain Winslow Calls it a Career

MELROSE, MA—Captain Jim Winslow of the Melrose Fire Department is calling it a career after 33 years in firefighting.

A second-generation Melrose firefighter, Winslow most recently served as the shift commander of Group 2. Winslow continued to serve the community until the final minute of his career, dealing with both a house fire and a city-wide tragedy during his last day on duty.
