Melrose Girls Tennis Cruises Past Wilmington

The Melrose High School girls tennis team set the tone at the top and continued its dominance throughout the lineup on Wednesday, toppling host Wilmington.
No. 1 singles player Sarah McGowan started things off with a 6-0, 6-2, win while No. 2 Shannon Tarpy followed that up with a 7-5, 6-2, victory of her own as a part of the Red Raiders' 4-1 team win on the road.
Natalle Kendall and Lydia Mays combined for a 6-1, 6-3, triumph at No. 1 doubles while Betty Richardson and Emma Leyne won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 doubles to top off the win.

Melrose is now 9-5 on the season while the Lady Wildcats fell to 5-11 on the campaign.
