Melrose Man Arrested for Assaulting Person Over 60 Years Old
Police arrested a Melrose Man on Saturday for assaulting a person over the age of 60, among other charges.

MELROSE, MA—Melrose resident Frank J. Gilbert was arrested for assaulting a person over the age of 60 Saturday.
Melrose police arrested Gilbert, 30, on charges of assault and battery of a person over the age of 60 or disabled, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60 and domestic assault or assault and battery.
Lt. Mark DeCroteau told Patch that police had responded to 190 Warwick Rd. to perform a well-being check after a woman had reported that her father had fallen. No arrests were made at that time.
Police reported to the same residence and at 9:30 a.m., where Gilbert was later arrested. DeCroteau could not comment further on the case due to its domestic nature.
Gilbert was held without bail at the Melrose police station and later arraigned in Malden District Court Monday.
The Melrose Free Press also reported that Gilbert was indicted on charges of raping a 15-year-old-girl in 2014, and is scheduled to appear in court on April 20 for that case.
