Man Charged in Connection with Chelmsford Home Invasion, Sexual Assault

A 33-year-old Taunton man allegedly broke into a Chelmsford woman’s apartment, waited for her to get home and then sexually assaulted her at knifepoint at about 1 a.m. Sunday.

Timothy Tucker was arrested in Auburn, New Hampshire, Sunday afternoon after police located his vehicle on Tower Hill Road. He was walking on a trail next to Tower Hill Pond, police said.

Tucker was charged with armed burglary, aggravated rape, assault by means of a dangerous weapon (knife) and intimidation of a witness (as he allegedly took the victim’s phone away). He knew the victim, police said.

Chelmsford Police Chief James Spinney thanked New Hampshire police for their assistance.

“This is a deeply disturbing crime, but we are thankful that the suspect was captured quickly and was unable to evade justice for his alleged actions,” he said in a statement.

New Hampshire State Police listed Tucker as being from Melrose.
