Melrose Man Killed In I-495 Crash

MELROSE, MA — A Melrose man was killed in a crash on I-495 in Boxborough early Tuesday morning. State police said Phong Le, 41, died in a single-car crash south of Exit 28.

Police responded to a report of the crash around 1:35 a.m. They found a 2011 Mercedes Benz, driven by Le, in the median near the wood line.

Police said Le was driving south on 495 when the vehicle veered to the left and struck a guardrail. Le, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The left and middle lanes of the highway were closed until about 5 a.m.
