Melrose Memorial Hall to Host Boxing Event Thursday

Proceeds from the event will benefit Massachusetts Fallen Heroes

MELROSE, MA—A former U.S. Marine and current middleweight boxing prospect will take on a former World Title Challenger at Memorial Hall in Melrose Thursday.

Mark "The Italian Bazooka" DeLuca (13-0, 10 KOs) of Whitman will take to the ring against Salim Larbi (20-5-2, 7 KOs) in the headlining middlewieght bout of Murphy's Boxing "Memorial Series" at Memorial Hall Thursday. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and proceeds will benefit Mass Fallen Heroes.

“It all starts May 5th for me, I’m excited to be back and fighting on another Murphy's Boxing card. Melrose Memorial Hall is a great venue and this will be a great night”, said DeLuca in a press release. “I’m looking forward to getting back in there. I plan on this being a very active year and working my way into the middleweight rankings.”

Deluca is up against a stiff test against Larbi, who fought for the WBO World Super Welterweight Title in 2012 against Lukas Konecny, but fell via knockout.

In addition, Stoneham native Greg "The Villian" Vendetti (9-2-1, 7 KOs) will take on boxing veteran Malik Jackson in the co-headliner

Tickets can be purchased for $45 for general admission, $70 for reserved floor seats and $100.
