Melrose Needs Maya Jamaleddine for City Council at Large
Mark Viola on why he supports Maya Jamaleddine for City Council at Large

Melrose is a dynamic city looking to move on to the next chapter. This November, our election will see a new Mayor and a significant, sweeping change in the City Council. In the spirit of making Melrose stronger, compassionate, and forward looking, I would like to express my wholehearted support for Maya Jamaleddine for City Councilor at Large.
Both in her work as Chair of the Melrose Human Rights Commission and her professional work in human services as a case manager, Maya has been an active and outspoken advocate for our friends and neighbors. Her focus is on making city services more effective, responsive, and available to all who need them, from the youngest students to our revered elders, and I know that she will fight to assure we live up to our commitment to be One Community Open to All.
I have seen Maya in action first hand. Her passion in helping others extends far beyond what is normally defined by the role of an elected official. She works from the inside out, first gaining a deep understanding of the issues and then mobilizing resources to deal with them. Using these approaches, she has addressed and confronted school bullying, fought for accessibility for elders, and provided a clear voice of advocacy for all who needed it.

She has proven her ability to manage through crisis, adversity, and challenges. These qualities will help make our City Council one to be proud of. On election day, please strongly consider voting for Maya.
