Melrose Police Log: 1 Arrest; Possibly Phony Check
Everyone who was either arrested or issued a summons last week was from out of town.

MELROSE, MA — The following are excerpts from last week's Melrose Police log. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
Monday, Jan. 7
12:44 a.m. - Caller reported a vehicle flipped over at Swains Pond Ave at Dexter Road. Driver refused medical help.

7:42 a.m. - Person drove into a cat and brought it to Melrose Animal Clinic.
11:36 a.m. - The manager of Hunt Photo wanted to report theft and possible fraud. A 21-year-old Peabody man was issued a summons on charges of larceny by check over $1,200.

8:06 p.m. - Someone reported a past hit and run. A 25-year-old Wilmington man was issued a summons on leaving the scene of property damage.
Tuesday, Jan. 8
1:02 a.m. - A vehicle stop at Main at Upham resulted in a summonsed being issued to a 23-year-old Ripley, Ohio man on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Saturday, Jan. 12
11:34 p.m. - A caller reported a disturbance with a person in a Pleasant St. apartment that is not supposed to be there. A 23-year-old Malden man was arrested on charges of domestic assault or assault and battery and intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official.
Sunday, Jan. 13
9:56 p.m. - A 31-year-old Malden woman was pulled over on Main Street. and issued a summons on charges or operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration (subsequent offense) and speeding.
