Melrose Police Log: OUI Crashes And Stolen Ladders

These are excerpts from the Melrose Police log from the last week.

MELROSE, MA — The following are excerpts from the Melrose Police log for the week of May 14. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Monday, May 14

8:30 p.m. - Report of an assault at Melrose nursing home on Martin Street.

Tuesday, May 15

8:04 a.m. - A caller reported stolen ladders from his Myrtle Street property. A 43-year-old Everett man, was summonsed on two charges of breaking and entering a building during the daytime for a felony.

10:08 a.m. - A crash was reported near the high school. One was transported to the hospital, and State Police were notified about damaged signs.

11:16 a.m. - Manager at Walgreens reports having fake $100 bills and video.

3:03 p.m. - The manager of the Starbucks believed a person of interest from previous incident was in the store. A 48-year-old Melrose man who police said may have a mental illness or disability was summonsed on four charges of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and one charge of indecent assault and battery of a person 14 or over. The man allegedly was dropping coins on the ground and, when picking them up, rubbing his head on the legs of women and girls.

5:40 p.m. - A manhole cover was reported off on Upham Street. It was put back in place.

Wednesday, May 16

4:20 p.m. - A Melrose man on Crescent Ave. was summonsed on charged of violating an abuse prevention order.

Thursday, May 17

3:15 p.m. - DPW was told about a sinkhole on Pleasant Street.

3:42 p.m. - An MBTA bus was involved in a minor crash on Main and Upham.

Saturday, May 19

1:03 p.m. - A 34-year-old Danvers woman was summonsed on charges of unarmed burglary and receiving stolen property of more than $250.

10:39 p.m. - A crash on Main Street resulted in Erin Snyder, 34, of Youle Street being arrested on charges of OUI liquor and failure to stop/yield.

Sunday, May 20

12:22 a.m. - A caller said a truck that was following her hit a tree. Eric Surat, Jr., 29, of Malden, was arrested on charges of OUI liquor and marked lanes violation.
