Melrose Resident Appointed MIAA Student Ambassador
Bishop Fenwick Student Oliver Botthof Appointed MIAA Student Ambassador
Bishop Fenwick Principal Br. Thomas Zoppo and Athletic Director David Woods are pleased to announce that Melrose Resident Oliver Botthof has been appointed as Bishop Fenwick High School’s MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association) Student Ambassador. Botthof, a Junior at the school, will represent Bishop Fenwick at MIAA events, meetings, and programs. Senior Emma Harrington, a resident of Peabody, will serve with Botthof.
According to the MIAA, “This initiative seeks to provide student-athletes from each MIAA member school with the opportunity to become involved and educated in the Association’s structure. MIAA member schools appoint one junior and one senior student to serve as their school’s ambassadors. Regular communication regarding Association news, policies and events is sent to the ambassadors. In addition, these students are asked for their feedback to help the Association improve the services that is offers.”
Woods considers this role to be “the captain of the captains” and adds that their collaboration with the Fenwick Athletic Department is invaluable.
