Melrose Sales Manager Snags $15 Million Lotto Prize
The lucky son of a gun purchased the scratch-off ticket at Boyles Family Market in Medford.

A Melrose man you’re already jealous of became miraculously wealthy on Sunday after scratching off a lotto ticket valued at $15 million, which he bought at a Medford convenience store.
Michael Milford, 28, who worked as a sales manager before Sunday but probably doesn’t anymore, collected his after-taxes payout of nearly $10 million on Tuesday, March 3.

According to a missive from Massachusetts State Lottery, Milford has expressed a pragmatic attitude towards his newfound riches. Aside from indulging with a wedding to schoolteacher Allison Gilgun amid an upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic, he said to plans to pay some bills, help his family, and stash the rest away for a rainy day.
The $15 million ticket ties a July of 2014 prize for the heftiest “scratch and win” instant payout in the history of the Massachusetts State Lottery. The Medford convenience store - Boyles Family Market - gets a $50,000 bonus for their part in selling the ticket, which was originally valued at $30.
