Melrose School Committee Approves Mandatory Activity Fee: Report

The Melrose School Committee has approved a one-time activity fee for middle and high school students, according to the Melrose Free Press.

MELROSE, MA—Melrose Middle and High School students will have to pay a one-time activity fee regardless of the extent to which a student participates in extra-curricular activities starting next year, according to a report by the Melrose Free Press.

The Melrose School Committee voted to approve a one-time activity fee for all middle and high school students, regardless of involvement. The Free Press' report also indicates that middle school students will be charged a $15 fee and high school students will be charged a $35 fee.

According to the report, fees will also be increased for athletics, music and the elementary afterschool program Education Stations.
