Melrose Schools, With All Those Students, Getting To Work
After all the talk this summer, see how many students the district is expecting this year. Also, some fresh faces and new starts.

MELROSE, MA — Through all the talks about budgets and overrides, the school year is right around the corner. The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 29.
Superintendent Cyndy Taymore said the district is projecting 4020 students from Pre-K through Grade 12. That number is up 102 students from the end of June. A final number will not be available until Oct. 1.
Three schools will welcome new principals: The Hoover (Christina DiCalogero), Winthrop (Michael Tracey), and Lincoln (Kristen St. Cloud) schools. Jaime Parsons is the interim principal at the middle school.
