The City of Melrose has declared a snow emergency/parking ban, effective 10 p.m. Monday.
The emergency will be in effect at least through Wednesday morning, according to the city.
In addition, all city buildings, except for the police and fire departments, will be closed at 5 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Wednesday, and all city meetings and events scheduled for Monday evening or Tuesday have been canceled.

Trash and recycling pickup will also be delayed one day the remainder of the week.
Snow-related concerns should be directed to the City Yard Storm Center, 781-665-0142, which will be monitored 24 hours a day until the storm is completely cleaned up. In an emergency, call 911.
