Melrose Superintendent, School Committee Member Supporting Transgender Bathroom Fight

Melrose school officials are speaking loudly in the discussion regarding bathroom rights for transgender students, according to a Boston Globe report.
Superintendent Cyndy Taymore and School Committee member Liz DeSelm, a transgender woman, acted as private citizens when they signed on to a brief in a US Supreme Court case, the Globe reports.
The case is about a transgender teen in Virginia and his pursuit of the right to use the boys' bathroom at his high school. School officials from more than half of the 50 states have signed the brief in support of the teen.
