Melrose Teacher Returns to Work after Leave
The teacher placed on leave earlier this month has returned to work after an investigation.

MELROSE, MA—The Melrose teacher who was placed on leave following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student will now return to work.
In a statement sent to Patch, the school district said that the most serious allegations were not substantiated after an administrative investigation had looked into the allegations. The teacher had been placed on leave on March 31 after allegations of inappropriate conduct characterized as non-sexual and discriminatory were reported to the school district.
"The substantiated concerns were verbal and not physical. We will take appropriate action that corresponds to those concerns," The school district wrote in the statement."We have spoken with as many individuals as we believed to have personal knowledge of the allegations and are confident in our findings.”

The Melrose Free Press, which first broke the story, cited multiple unnamed sources confirming that the allegations had to do with inappropriate, non-sexual physical contact by the teacher.
