Missing Melrose Boy Found

Francis J. Nolan, 16, has an autism spectrum disorder and is nonverbal. He has been found.

Authorities have located a missing Melrose boy moments after announcing he was missing.

Police said just before noon they have found Francis J. Nolan, 16, near the Saugus Line.

Nolan has an autism spectrum disorder and is nonverbal. He responds to "Frankie" but may startle if approached suddenly, police say.

Nolan was last seen around 7 a.m. near the Melrose-Malden line in the Pine Banks area. He was wearing a puffy, navy blue winter coat with a hood and blue pants with gray stripes.

Malden and Melrose Police were searching for Nolan and other agencies were notified.
