I have been a home owner in Melrose for 40 years. I recently retired and now have been a resident of Windsor at Oak Grove Village for close to two years. Over the course of my living in Melrose I have seen a lot of changes in the political culture, a lot of good and some not so good at all. We have a vibrant city, an active downtown and many new changes, not all good. Our City Hall and leadership have been a closed entity to most of our residents. We need a change in our leadership that will give us more transparency, more open door policies to our residents and a strong fiscal direction. With that said, I am endorsing Monica Medeiros for Mayor. She has been a strong advocate for all of the citizens of Melrose regardless of political affiliation. She will be a strong advocate for all citizens not just another political machine with closed door meetings, political favorites or the old boy connected network. We need a strong leader open to all and a vibrant young hard working professional, willing to work for all to move our city into the next challenges that face our city from development, education, the arts, green space, affordable housing, fiscal responsibility. I urge you to consider Monica for mayor on November 5th.
