Narcan Available At Melrose City Hall
The city's Health and Human Services Department is offering complimentary Narcan.

MELROSE, MA — The Health and Human Services Department is offering free Narcan for residents to take.
The Narcan can be found on City Hall’s lower level during its normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Each box of the medicine comes with 2 doses. HHS will provide written instructions with each box, and the sole requirement for taking a dose is a brief training.
Narcan contains Naloxone, which is a medicine that combats the effects of an opioid overdose. According to HHS, it is also safe to use for an overdose in which it is unsure that it was caused by opioids. The department recommends storing Narcan in a temperature-controlled space that is between 68 and 77 degrees fahrenheit. Narcan will also be available at upcoming HHS events.
