MELROSE, MA — The following are excerpts from last week's Melrose police log. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
Monday, Aug. 5
5:58 p.m. — A resident reports a group of people blocking the Main Street sidewalk are causing a ruckus.

9:32 p.m. — A person pushed a shopping car down the Main Street/Reading Hill Ave. area. No damaged cars were found.

1:01 a.m. — A resident on Orchard Lane reported hearing someone yell "Help!" three times. Police could not locate calls for help.
6:57 p.m. — A person alleged a AAA tow driver stole medicine from their vehicle.
Wednesday, Aug. 7
9:26 a.m. — Following multiple calls for a crash on Main Street, a 23-year-old Lynn man was arrested on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding at a rate of speed greater than was reasonable and proper.
12:42 p.m. — A complaint of someone sitting on a bench in front of a supermarket screaming into a phone and drinking beer.
12:56 p.m. — A 39-year-old Connecticut man was issued a summons on a charge of violating an abuse prevention order.
5:47 p.m. — A report of harassment between children at the Lincoln School.
7:42 p.m. — A report of a male and female walking up and down Otis Street all day with alcohol who at the time may have been heavily under the influence. Police spoke to them and said they were OK. Police found no alcohol.
Thursday, Aug. 8
3:01 a.m. — A caller on Penney Road complaining about a neighbor shutting a car door.
5 p.m. — A report of a man in only his underwear by a black car around the Wyoming Cemetery Rear Garage.
Saturday, Aug. 10
11:19 a.m. — A caller said a male was one his property on Berkeley Street and gave him some attitude when asked why he was there.
9 p.m. — A 26-year-old Dorchester man was issued a summons on a charge of having an uninsured motor vehicle.
9:45 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an erratic vehicle swerving all over the road, onto curbs, and knocked over a stop sign at Vinton Street and Melrose Street. A 50-year-old Melrose man who lives on Walton Park was arrested on charges of OUI liquor over .08 percent, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense) and leaving the scene of property damage.
