Parking Ban Issued And School Canceled For Monday

Due to the snowstorm, an on-street parking ban goes into effect at 6 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2., but it doesn't apply to business districts.

The following statement comes from the City of Melrose

We are expecting 10 to 16 inches of snow, starting at approximately 3 a.m. tonight. Here’s what you need to know:

  • There will be no school in Melrose on Monday, February 2.
  • Due to safety concerns, trash will be on a holiday schedule, which means Monday’s trash and recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday’s trash and recycling will be picked up on Wednesday, Wednesday’s will be picked up on Thursday, Thursday’s will be picked up on Friday, and Friday’s will be picked up on Saturday.
  • An on-street parking ban will begin at 6 a.m. tomorrow in all areas of the City except for business districts.
  • City Hall will be open.
  • The Milano Senior Center will be closed.
  • The Melrose Public Library will be open on its regular schedule.
