The voters of Melrose have a critical decision to make when choosing the next Mayor on November 5th. In the coming years, the city will face a number of opportunities and challenges that will require strong, proven leadership from someone who will be a tireless advocate for all Melrose residents. Paul Brodeur is that person.
While I served as Ward 2 Alderman and President of the Board of Aldermen, I always knew that I could count on Paul’s experience and partnership. As a fellow former Alderman and President of the Board, he understands how to navigate the unique challenges and opportunities faced by municipal government. Now in his fifth term as State Representative, Paul adds to that experience a strong record of ensuring that Melrose gets what it deserves at the state level. From navigating the state budget process to partnering with state policymakers and agencies, he brings important connections that will serve Melrose in its path forward.
As a social worker, I believe strongly in the power of advocacy to make connections and drive needed change. In the time that I have known Paul, he has demonstrated his fierce advocacy for the people he serves (which is why the Massachusetts chapter of the National Association of Social Workers named him Legislator of the Year in 2015). Whether dealing with broad citywide issues, neighborhood needs, or individual concerns, he is committed to finding solutions and fighting for what is best for the community.

Paul is the advocate that Melrose needs during the critical years ahead. From his willingness to face difficult discussions and decisions with an open mind, to the connections he has built in his years of public service, to his commitment to the people he serves, Paul demonstrates time and again that to him, Melrose matters.
I hope you will support Paul Brodeur as the next Mayor of Melrose.
