Person, Pitbull Found Under Melrose Nursing Home Bed: Police Logs

MELROSE, MA — The following are excerpts from the Melrose Police log for the week spanning May 7 - 13. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Monday, May 7

7:28 a.m. - Caller reported a tractor trailer took wires down on Tappan Street.

2:37 p.m. - Call from TD Bank said someone was attempting to cash bad checks.

4:12 p.m. - Someone from Windsor Communities reported a past break-in.

5:15 p.m. - Caller said he was walking his dog when he saw two pit bulls attacked their owner on Swains Pond Ave.

Tuesday, May 8

12:37 a.m. - A 22-year-old Wareham man was issued a summons on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration after being stopped on Upham Street.

3:28 p.m - Caller reports someone shooting BB guns into neighboring yards on Ferdinand Street. The resident voluntarily surrender three BB guns for destruction.

Wednesday, May 9

12:03 a.m. - A 21-year-old Malden man was issued a summons on charges of speeding and operating a motor vehicle with licensed revoked as habitual traffic offender after being stopped on Forest Street.

2:48 a.m. - A caller from the Town Line Inn reported a woman was demanding a free room and trying to get into rooms. Vivian Wooden, 32, from Boston was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, malicious destruction of property of over $250, and attempting to commit a crime/breaking and entering.

2:29 p.m. - A syringe was found and disposed of on Waverly Place.

Friday, May 11

11:44 a.m. - One is arrested after a caller reported medical emergency on Fellsway. Thomas McIntyre Jr., 44, of Cambridge is arrested on domestic assault or assault and battery charges.

Saturday, May 12

10:37 p.m. - Staff at a Melrose nursing home on Martin Street found a patient's guest hiding under a bed with a pitbull. The guest refused to leave so police were called.
