It's August 1st and we joined other members of the Melrose Senior Center as we headed to see
the Patriots training camp in Foxboro. With one bus filled we were lucky to get Jack on the bus with us, as James drove.
The drive was about an hour and we were given free reins to walk all around the training area.

James had cold water and wet face clothes for everyone. (just in case).
There were all sorts of fun things to do along the walkway to the field. We tried a few like throwing a football threw a ring etc. but no free gifts.

The day was hot and humid but we were lucky to get a small area for handicapped visitors under a tent, close to the field.
Rachel kept walking back and forth as part of a security team and a helpful aid if we needed one.

There was a lot of action on the field with players running and jumping; and doing all sorts of stretching exercises.

The field was busy with movement but I was disappointed that they did not play an inter team game.

We walked back to a shady spot and waited for James to pick us up for our bus ride back to Melrose.
Hot and Humid, but it was a close up look at the Patriots, so it was a very good day.

Good stuff to do is always GOOD!
August 13 we had or annual Pot Luck lunch in Derry NH at the home of one of our members .
We don't discuss what we are each bringing so there is always a surprise.
After catching up a bit we started with appetizers...

There was a great salad ;we chatted; we rested a bit, and enjoyed the view.

It was time for the main courses.....Chicken, Egg Plant and home made American Chop Suey

More talking, drinking iced tea and root beer, and thought it must be time for dessert.

Ice cream with whipped cream, nuts, sprinkles. How good can it get...
Good friends, peaceful view and good food...you just can't beat it!
August 15 just another incognito gathering at Mexico Lindo here in Melrose.
We have had two members away for a month or more for illness or vacation, and it was a welcome back to the fold get together.
The food, the service, and just getting together with missing members made it a great lunch meeting.
After complimentary nachos and sauce we each enjoyed a different selection and three take home boxes went home.

Local restaurant, catch up ,and once again, another great Red Hat get together.(even minus the hats.)
Augusts 18th. it was off to the Regal Players in Waltham to see the amazing performance of American in Paris.

The music was wonderful and the dancing outstanding. It really is amazing to see ballerinas dancing on their toys and flying through the air in the arms of handsome male dancers. It really was a joy to watch.
We had our dinner at Oye's Chinese restaurant in |Reading. Great selections and a handsome waiter that was there on the dot for drinks, questions and smiles.

So goes August and the proverbial summer.
Labor day, and the leaves are showing color, but many more days to enjoy the season, current and upcoming.
Keep an eye on us we are still on the move with a lot of things on our horizons.
