Retired Melrose Fire Lieutenant Dies

MELROSE, MA — Retired Fire Lieutenant Warren George recently died, according to Melrose Fire Chief Christoper Leary.

George was appointed to the fire department in 1969 and promoted to fire lieutenant in 1975. He would remain in that position until his 2002 retirement.

A wake for George will be held on Dec. 14 from 4-8 p.m. at Gately's Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. from the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church.
