Robbery During Melrose Graduation: Melrose Police Logs

MELROSE, MA — The following are excerpts from the Melrose Police log. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Monday, May 28

6:11 p.m. - Someone asked police to help find a missing cell phone. The tracking app was located at a Cochrane Street address. A 61-year-old Melrose woman who lives on Cochrane Street was issued a summons for receiving stolen property of less than $250.

Tuesday, May 29

7:14 a.m. - A 45-year-old Melrose woman who lives on Washington Street was issued a summons for unlicensed operations of a motor vehicle after being pulled over on Vinton Street.

11:17 a.m. - This happened.

4:34 p.m. - Man turns in ammunition found during a cleaning of his home.

7:12 p.m. - An accident at Main Street and West Emerson resulted in a summons being issued to a 22-year-old Peabody man for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Wednesday, May 30

1:10 p.m. - Police arrested 21-year-old Daniel Walsh of Whitman Ave on five warrants.

Thursday, May 31

11:30 p.m. - Someone called the police on her roommate that he is talking too loudly on his phone and making too much noise.

7:36 a.m. - Someone on Stratford Road reported her car was broken into overnight for the second straight night. $5-10 in change was taken as well as a pair of prescription sunglasses worth $200.

Saturday, June 2

12:49 a.m. - Someone said he was at graduation but returned to his Coolidge Condos home and noticed his bedroom window was open and things were missing from his room.

11:30 a.m. - Man walking his dog reported group of four men bothering swans at Ell Pond.

Sunday, June 3

12:10 a.m. - Caller reports someone walking with a rifle near Banks Place. The rifle turned out to be an umbrella.

9:15 a.m. - Syringes near park bench at Ell Pond.

1:49 p.m. - Police arrested Dennis Kozdra, 75, of Melrose on a warrant on Cass Street.
