Woman Struck By Vehicle On Main Street In Saugus

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and has been brought to Mass. General, police said.

SAUGUS, MA — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Main Street, police said. She was struck not far from the ramp to Route 1; first responders arrived shortly after 10 a.m. to find an off-duty Cambridge firefighter providing aid.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene. No charges or citations are pending, police said.

The victim was brought to Mass. General with serious injuries that Interim Police Chief Ronald Giorgetti said were believed to be life-threatening.

Main Street was closed in both directions between the Lynn Fells Parkway and Route 1 while police investigated.
