Route 1 Kane's Donuts Opening Date Gets Closer

SAUGUS, MA — One iconic Saugus business will officially replace a Saugus landmark next week. The new Kane's Donuts location is expected to open Friday, March 1, according to The Boston Globe, bringing a drive-thru option to the same Route 1 spot mini-golfers once descended and the orange dinosaur once stood over golf holes, not doughnut holes.

The new location will be the first to feature a drive-thru service. It might even sell pizza, Wicked Local reported.

The 3,500-square-foot store will be the second Kane's in Saugus - in addition to the decades-old original on Lincoln Ave. There is also a Kane's in Boston's Financial District.
