Route 1 Serious Crash In Saugus
Traffic was severely backed up after a single-car crash.
SAUGUS, MA — A crash on Route 1 South shut down the right lane and backed up traffic for Monday morning commuters. The driver in the single-car crash, who was reported to have had a medical issue, was transported to the hospital.
State Police confirmed the crash around 9:50 a.m., about an hour after it was being reported on scanners as a "serious" crash.
The lane has been reopened and the crash scene cleared, but it was bad this morning.
