Saugus High Graduates Face Stiff Discipline For Smoking Cigars

At least seven athletes can't play in tournament games after celebrating their graduation by lighting up some stogies.

SAUGUS, MA — Seven athletes at Saugus High won't be allowed to play in upcoming tournament games after smoking cigars on graduation day. A School Committee member said at least six lacrosse players and one baseball players were among those punished, and that more may be disciplined, according to Wicked Local.

A number of students reportedly smoked cigars at Stackpole Field following graduation. The students knew they could be disciplined for violating the school's tobacco-free policy, Wicked Local reported.
