Taxi-Jacker Flees Square One Mall: Police
Police are searching for a man they say broke a taxi's driver's side window, removed the driver, and took off toward Essex Street.
SAUGUS, MA — Police are searching for the man who they say carjacked a taxi after fleeing from the Square One Mall Sunday evening. The suspect allegedly fled Dick's Sporting Goods at 6:45 p.m., possibly carrying merchandise, Saugus Police Chief Domenic DiMella said.
The suspect allegedly approached a gray 2008 Ford Fusion Garcia's Taxi, broke the driver's side window, and removed the driver before driving away in the direction of Essex Street. The driver was not injured. The taxi's MA plate is 412c.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s. He was last seeing wearing a black hat and black jacket.
