As we all know, the roll-out of the Obamacare health-care website has been a dismal failure, not only because it was not designed and pre-tested properly and security elements not integrated into its design, but also because it is another example of how big government fails the American people who were promised by Democrats that big government could provide a system capable of providing us a more efficient, affordable health-care system for everyone including those without insurance. This debacle occurred despite having 3 years to develop it and spending over 800 million dollars to produce it as well as hundreds of millions of dollars to promote it. Of course this is not the first time big government has failed us although this is probably the most striking example since it involved government taking control of over 16% of our economy.
Over the past 5 years our government has been shown to: (1) provide uncontrolled distribution of automatic military weapons to drug cartels in Mexico as part of the governments “Fast and Furious Program”, which have led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent Mexicans as well as several Americans, (2) NSA illegally spying on hundreds of millions of American’s emails, telephone conversations, and private information, (3) the IRS scandal where senior IRS staff initiated programs, simply for political purposes, which singled out conservative 501c3 non-profit groups for special audits, inspections and thus delaying their certification prior to the presidential election of 2012, (4) the waste, corruption, and fraud in the HHS department wasting hundreds of millions of dollars each year and (5) the Benghazi debacle when our government did not provide the necessary protection to our Libyan consulate and then after it was attached by terrorists, did nothing to defend American sovereign territory or protect the ambassador and his staff, and during this attack when 4 of them were murdered by the terrorists.
The last five years should be proof enough that the Democrat promise of doing things better than anyone else under the mantra “big” government knows best, should alarm us all!
