Doesn’t neatness count anymore? I remember when I handled cash
many, many years ago, we were taught to have the bills all facing the
same way, picture side up, highest denomination on top, and all the
dogears smoothed out. I can understand the average person not being too
particular about how their bills are faced or folded. My daughter would
pull a bunch of cash out of her pocket that looked like a head of
lettuce. However, people handling money for a living should be setting a
better example. Even the cash is coming out of the ATM’s every which
way and dogeared. Old habits are hard to break, I guess, because
whenever I get new cash, I have to rearrange the bills and smooth them
out or I can’t count them accurately and I’m embarrassed handing anyone a
dogeared bill. Of course, cash will probably be a thing of the
past someday with credit/debit cards used for almost everything,
including a $2 cup of coffee. Who am I to stand in the way of
“progress”??
