U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren joins Katherine Clark at Framingham State University

FRAMINGHAM – Speaking before an excited crowd of students, volunteers and members of organized Labor, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren called on Fifth District voters to pull together to elect Katherine Clark to Congress in next Tuesday’s special election.

Volunteers will spend the next few days knocking on doors, making phone calls, and reminding voters that Katherine Clark is the best choice to represent them in Congress and ensure their voice is heard.

“We believe that together we are going to build a stronger future for this country. That is the fight that is on the table in Washington. That is the fight that I get out there every day and lace up and go into the ring with,” Warren said on Wednesday. “And that is the reason I am here today because we need another strong woman in this congressional delegation to go down to Washington. There is no one I would rather stand alongside than Katherine Clark. She is smart, she has good values, and most of all she is tough.”

Joined by FSU President Dr. Robert A. Martin, State Reps. Tom Sannicandro, D-Ashland, and Chris Walsh, D-Framingham, Katherine thanked everyone for their support and pledged to work to fight for common sense solutions that help working families.

“In this election, we need to send a message that the issues that middle class families talk about around their kitchen tables need to be put back on the table in Washington,” Clark said. “The Republican House of Representatives is controlled by a group of extremists who are fixated on turning the clock back on the progress we’ve made, and we’re not going to stand on the sidelines and let that continue.”

The event marked less than one week remaining until the final election on Dec. 10. Voters will go to the polls to decide who will replace Ed Markey in the MA-05 Congressional seat.
