Vote "No" on Question 2

Voting “Yes” on Question 2 is a bad idea. We need uniform standards for our students and their educators. Supporters seeking an end to decades of MCAS success will not help teachers achieve an education nirvana or help their students reach a better enlightenment. Our students and their teachers need challenges and the use of MCAS has helped Massachusetts achieve education and economic success.

We need to focus on the future – not the past. Voting “Yes” pushes graduation standards back to local districts and results in a disproportionate education across the state. Our local officials have repeatedly proven they cannot live within current budgets or achieve consensus about what is important. This means a “Yes” vote does not bring back the joy we seek for education.

We all must vote “No” to keep Massachusetts education levels above other states (like Connecticut and Maryland) and create the opportunity economy of the future. Voting “No” will keep an education in Massachusetts shining as a beacon of hope for America and the world. Obviously.
