WATCH: Former Melrose Player Jalen Adams With Miracle Shot: 'Are You Kidding Me!?'
Local kid Adams hit the biggest - and most improbable - shot of UConn's season.
BOSTON, MA - The name Jalen Adams is not going to be forgotten around Storrs, Conn., anytime soon.
The freshman who played his first two high school seasons at Melrose High School hit the shot of the season Friday night, a beyond-halfcourt heave with the clock expiring that pushed UConn into a fourth overtime, where they held on to beat Cincinnati, 104-97.
Adams had less than a second to catch the inbounds pass and release it, something he was to confirmed to have done after video review. The ball banked in off the backboard, and sent the crowd (and the UConn bench) at the American Athletic Conference quarterfinals in Orlando, Fla. into a frenzy.
