April 12, 8:00 am.
It is just another one of those WOW days.
Grey skies and even the trees across the lake look black in the grayness.

Bare birch, branches and twigs, are covered in a blanket of snow. The chickadees come to the feeders that now have caps of white on the top of the tubes of seeds.
It is after all Spring in Maine,(temperature 33 degrees),

As I open the porch door to breadth the outside air, there is no noise. It is silent, still, not even a slight breeze. The trees, green and bare, are frozen in time.
Only the snow falls and the chickadees move from feeders to now snow covered trees.
The lake and beach are white as winter; and the red picnic table has a cover of white but still showing red to color the day.
Now at 9am... the flakes are heavier and the lake and trees beyond are invisible in the whiteness.
It is impossible to count the snowflakes; but as I stare out the window and wonder about the shapes and sizes of the falling flakes, how many will it take to make yet another WOW day.
Here we are at 10:30 …the sky has opened wide; the snow is almost slow enough to count the flakes, and the goldfinches are happily at the feeders.
WOW what a day and its only 10:30.
