10 Dates You Need to Know on the Worcester School Calendar

WORCESTER, MA — The 2016-2017 school year is almost here, and while students may be dreading it, the time has come to make preparations for the upcoming school year.

Students are due back in Worcester schools on Monday, Aug. 29, for all grades. The return is immediately followed by another break, with no school Friday, Sept. 2, or Monday, Sept. 5 (Labor Day). Here are ten other important dates you should be aware of for the Worcester public schools.

1. Sept. 14: known your school nights for Burncoat Prep, Lincoln Street, Wawekus Road, Forest Grove and Heard Street schools
2. Sept. 15: Midland Street known your school night
3. Sept. 20: WEMS know your school night
4. Sept. 21: know your school nights for City View, Union Hill, Flagg Street and Jacob Hiatt
5. Sept. 22: know your school nights for Quinsig, Columbus Park
6. Oct. 4: Sullivan Middle known your school night
7. Oct. 5. Elm Park known your school night
8. Nov. 11: no school, Veterans' Day
9. Nov. 23-25: Thanksgiving break
10. Dec. 26-30: holiday vacation
