MILFORD, MA — Milford residents, businesses and community groups are invited to take part in an annual town-wide cleanup later this month.
Citizens for Milford will host its Annual Beautification Day on Saturday, Apr. 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event brings together volunteers to help beautify the community by picking up litter across town.
Families, civic groups, churches, local businesses and teenagers needing community service hours are encouraged to participate. Younger children may attend if accompanied by an adult.
Volunteers should meet organizers between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the municipal parking lot across from Sacred Heart Church at 5 East Main St. to receive supplies, instructions and assignments.
A free lunch will be provided, courtesy of the Milford Lions Club and Rail Trail Flatbread Company. Lions Club members will grill hamburgers and hot dogs on-site, while Rail Trail Flatbread Company will offer samples of New City Microcreamery ice cream. Master Roof will also provide a water bottle refill station and access to public restrooms across the street.
Residents are also encouraged to help identify cleanup areas by emailing citizensformilford@gmail.com or by messaging the group’s Facebook page by 5 p.m. Thursday, Apr. 23.
If it rains, the event will be postponed to Sunday, Apr. 26, from noon to 3 p.m.
Citizens for Milford thanked the Milford Highway Department, Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail, Milford Lions Club, Rail Trail Flatbread Company and Master Roof for their support. Corporate volunteers this year include Milford Federal Bank and the DoubleTree Hotel in Milford.
