MILFORD, MA — A 19-year-old is facing multiple charges following a late-night crash into a telephone pole last week, according to police.
Luis Guaman Tenezaca of Milford was charged with operating under the influence and other offenses after a single-vehicle crash shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Milford Public Safety Communications Center received multiple reports involving a gray Hyundai Elantra, police said.
Responding officers found the vehicle with heavy front-end damage and three occupants inside. One passenger suffered injuries to the head and face, according to police.
A witness at the scene told officers that a fourth occupant had fled on foot after the crash. While Milford Fire Department and Coastal Ambulance crews treated those involved, members of the Milford Police K-9 Unit tracked the fourth occupant to a residence on Prospect Street.
Following an investigation, police charged Guaman Tenezaca with operating under the influence of liquor or .08%, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and a person under 21 in possession of liquor.
Police did not release additional information about the injured passenger's condition.
