“Exceptional Students”: Milford Schools Honors 2026 Co-Valedictorians

Ana Julia Pereira and Giovanna Weiner were honored for their exceptional academic achievements and leadership.

MILFORD, MA — Milford High School recently hosted a special ceremony honoring its Class of 2026 co-valedictorians.

Ana Julia Pereira and Giovanna Weiner were honored for their exceptional academic achievements, leadership, perseverance, and contributions to the school community.

Pereira, who is a nationally recognized QuestBridge Scholar, was honored for her academic accomplishments and dedication throughout her high school career.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Santiago Mourão, Brazilian Consul in Boston, presented Pereira with an official citation from Gov. Maura Healey. Pereira plans to attend Wesleyan University, where she will study biology.

Meanwhile, Weiner was recognized for her academic success, leadership, creativity, service and involvement in the Milford community. Her achievements span academics, athletics, the arts, leadership organizations, and volunteer work.

Weiner will attend Boston University this fall to study film and television in the Kilachand Honors College.

“Ana Julia and Giovanna are both exceptional students,” Milford High School Principal Josh Otlin said. “They are both heavily involved in our community. They devote their time and leadership to different clubs and activities at Milford High School, while still finding the time to excel academically. They are, and will be, outstanding representatives of a Milford High School graduate.”

The celebration featured remarks from Otlin and Superintendent Dr. Craig Consigli. The students' guidance counselors, Claudia Tamsky and Jenn Hartford Mitchell, organized the event, which was attended by family members, friends, school officials, and community leaders.

School Committee Chairperson Michael Aghajanian also presented Pereira and Weiner with official citations from the Massachusetts House of Representatives on behalf of Rep. Brian Murray.

Recognition For Assistant Principal Zaleski

The ceremony also included a surprise recognition for Assistant Principal Jess Zaleski for her dedication and support of the senior class.

Kaleigh Morin, secretary of the Class of 2026 Student Council, presented Zaleski with flowers on behalf of the students.

Milford High School congratulated Pereira and Weiner and thanked the families, staff members, community leaders, and guests who helped celebrate the students’ accomplishments.
