Divers found the body around 12:45 p.m. one day after the swimmer was reported missing, according to NBC10 Boston, citing Milford Fire Chief Mark Nelson.

Milford fire crews were first called Saturday afternoon for reports of a swimmer in distress, according to Boston 25 News. When they arrived, the person was already underwater, and dive teams searched Saturday before resuming recovery efforts Sunday morning, according to the news outlet.

Family members identified the swimmer as Yanick Rodrigues, 17, of Dorchester, according to WCVB. Authorities had not publicly released the swimmer's identity as of Monday morning.

The death comes less than a week after Milford police warned people to stay away from the quarries following another rescue at Shadowbrook.

On July 19, an 18-year-old woman fell about 12 feet from a rock ledge onto jagged rocks and was taken by LifeFlight to UMass Memorial Medical Center, Milford police said.

Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino said after that rescue that the quarries are "not a safe place for recreation." Tusino mentioned steep rock faces, unstable terrain and limited access for emergency responders.
