Prosecutors said he has multiple OUI offenses.

MILFORD, MA — A Milford man who was previously deported to Ecuador is facing charges after officials said he reentered the U.S. illegally.

Luis Rolando Clavijo Tacuri, 32, was charged with one count of unlawful reentry, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts. He remains in federal custody following an initial appearance in federal court in Boston.

Court filings said immigration officials first encountered Tacuri in October 2015 while he was incarcerated on an operating under the influence charge in Holliston. Prosecutors said the case marked his third OUI offense.

Tacuri was subsequently placed in removal proceedings and deported to Ecuador in December 2016, according to court filings.

Prosecutors said Tacuri later reentered the United States without authorization. He was arrested in Milford on May 27, 2024, on another OUI allegation, according to court filings.

The unlawful reentry charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison, one year of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000. Tacuri would also be subject to deportation after completing any sentence imposed.

A federal district court judge would determine a sentence based on federal sentencing guidelines and applicable law. The charge is an allegation and Tacuri is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
