MILFORD, MA — A Milford resident is facing a federal charge after authorities said he returned to the U.S. after being deported.

Immigration officials first encountered Tacuri in October 2015 while he was incarcerated on operating under the influence charges in Holliston, according to court filings. Authorities said it was his third OUI offense.

Tacuri was placed into removal proceedings and deported to Ecuador in December 2016, prosecutors said. He later illegally reentered the United States, according to the indictment.

Milford police arrested Tacuri on May 27, 2024, for allegedly operating under the influence again, prosecutors said.

The unlawful reentry charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison, one year of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. Tacuri would also be subject to deportation after completing any sentence imposed.
